PE and Sport Premium 2025–2026
What is the PE and Sport Premium?
The PE and Sport Premium is funding provided by the Department for Education to support primary schools in making additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, sport and physical activity they provide.
At Cadmore End CE School, we aim to provide all pupils with regular opportunities to be physically active and to develop the confidence, skills and enjoyment that support healthy and active lifestyles.
For the 2025–2026 academic year, Cadmore End CE School received £16,570 in PE and Sport Premium funding.

How we used the funding
During 2025–2026, we invested in improving the range and quality of physical activity opportunities available to pupils through the development of our outdoor PE and physical activity provision.
Our expenditure on equipment and resources included:
- outdoor climbing, balancing and gross-motor equipment, including climbing and balancing elements to replace equipment that had become unusable;
- £1,500 of portable climbing and physical activity equipment, enabling staff to adapt activities for different ages, abilities and needs;
- renewal and development of playground activity markings, including refreshing existing markings and introducing additional markings to extend opportunities for active play and physical activity; and
- additional physical activity and play resources.
Impact of the funding
Our investment has increased the range of opportunities available for pupils to be physically active during the school day.
The climbing, balancing and physical activity equipment provides opportunities for pupils to develop balance, coordination, strength, agility and gross-motor skills. The playground markings and additional resources encourage purposeful physical activity and active play beyond formal PE lessons.
Portable resources provide additional flexibility, enabling staff to adapt activities to meet the differing ages, abilities and needs of pupils.
A particular focus of our investment has been improving access to physical activity for pupils with SEND and disadvantaged pupils, ensuring that opportunities for participation are inclusive and accessible. These are the two groups identified as receiving targeted spending within our statutory return.
Sustainability
Our investment has been designed to provide benefits beyond a single academic year.
The outdoor climbing and balancing provision, playground activity markings and physical activity resources will continue to be available to future cohorts of pupils.
Portable equipment can be used flexibly across different year groups and activities, while staff can continue to incorporate the resources into PE, structured physical activity and active play.
This will enable the school to continue promoting regular physical activity and developing pupils' physical confidence and skills in future years.
Swimming and Water Safety
For our 2025–2026 Year 6 cohort:
- 58% could swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.
- 58% could use a range of strokes effectively, including front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke.
- 67% could perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
No PE and Sport Premium funding was used for additional swimming lessons or broader aquatic opportunities during 2025–2026.
Looking Ahead – 2026–2027
We will continue to build upon our PE, sport and physical activity provision during 2026–2027.
As part of the new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network, we have identified the following areas as priorities for additional support:
- continued professional development (CPD) to further develop staff confidence and expertise; and
- school sports competitions, providing pupils with increased opportunities to participate in competitive sport and represent their school.
These priorities are consistent with those identified within our statutory PE and Sport Premium return.

Draft Plan – September 2026
The Department for Education has confirmed that 2026–2027 will be a transition year for the PE and Sport Premium, alongside the development of the new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network.
At the time of publication, Cadmore End CE School is awaiting confirmation of its 2026–2027 PE and Sport Premium allocation and final funding arrangements.
This action plan therefore sets out our initial priorities for 2026–2027. It will be updated once our funding allocation has been confirmed and as further information regarding the new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network becomes available.

Monitoring and Evaluating Impact
We will monitor the impact of our PE and Sport Premium through:
- pupil participation in PE, physical activity and sporting opportunities;
- pupil voice;
- staff feedback and evaluation of CPD;
- learning walks and monitoring of PE provision;
- participation in school sports competitions and events;
- monitoring engagement of pupils with SEND and disadvantaged pupils; and
- evaluation of the use and impact of physical activity resources.
Next Steps
This plan will be reviewed and updated once Cadmore End CE School's 2026–2027 PE and Sport Premium allocation has been confirmed.
Specific expenditure will only be added once the school has considered the requirements of the 2026–2027 conditions of grant and identified how the funding can most effectively and sustainably improve PE, sport and physical activity for our pupils.
Our initial priorities of continued professional development and increased participation in school sports competitions reflect the areas identified by the school in its 2025–2026 statutory PE and Sport Premium return.
